This next leg of our trip was, in truth, the reason for our holiday. For 350 days, we’d been awaiting our flights aboard the Singapore Airlines A380 Suites. For those of you intrigued by First Class, this is like First Class on steroids.  We’d hoarded our points so that we could fly for free, and when the opportunity to fly from CDG (Paris) to SIN (Singapore) arose, we seized it. That’s almost 13 hours in Singapore Airlines’ Suites Class, and then another 5 hours onwards in Suites to PVG (Shanghai).

Upon entering the dedicated door of the massive A380-800, we were greeted by five members of the cabin crew. But when I was shown to my seat, the first thing I noticed was what, traditionally, I’ve only seen in nice hotel rooms.

And then, of course, Michelle marveled at all of the space.

Almost immediately, the Krug and Dom Perignon were flowing.

Here’s a short video to showcase the view from seat 2D:

We were given pajamas.

His and Hers amenity kits.

Each kit included a bottle of perfume and cologne.

And since only one other Suite was occupied (there are twelve Suites), we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

We enjoyed fully-plated meal services.

Caviar.

(And this is what Michelle looks like when she’s really happy.)

After a multi-course meal, it was time to get some rest. Unlike typical seats in premium cabins, there is no button to push if you want them to transform into beds. Instead, the flight attendant comes over, pulls a mattress from the wall (a bit like a Murphy bed), and voila!

They kept bringing us Dom.

Michelle asked me to wear a hydrating face mask.

Before long, it was time for breakfast. Among the many breakfast foods was this rather adorable hollowed-out pineapple.

We’ve had some great flights over the years, but this one was, by far, the best.
